V.I.P. CHEER ALL-STAR TEAMS
TEAM PLACEMENTS

Our team is growing, and we want you to join us! We are looking for both experienced and new athletes to join our All-Star teams for the 2024-2025 season. Team placements will take place the week of May 19-23, 2024.

At V.I.P., athletes build confidence, create friendships, and learn the value of teamwork and determination as they work together to achieve their goals. We think you’ll fall in love with this energetic, high-flying, competitive sport! Learn more about All-Star Cheer by visiting the U.S. All-Star Federation (USASF) page.

As All-Star cheer is a competitive team sport, a commitment is required from both the athlete and their family to ensure the athlete is able to attend team practices, performances, and competitions.

Coming soon—Lucky Season 7!

All Star Elite and Prep teams are formed through a team placement process with the goal of creating the most competitive teams for the season. The placement process takes into account individual tumbling, stunting, jump, and dance skills, along with the maturity and work ethic of the athlete and the specific needs of the team.

During evaluations, athletes will demonstrate their tumbling, jumps, dance, and stunting skills. Athletes will learn a short dance to assess the their ability to learn choreography and perform with precise timing, sharp motions, and enthusiasm.

New Evaluation Format!

Sunday, 5/19: Tumbling, Jump, and Dance Evaluations*

Athletes will register for a tumbling evaluation time on 5/19 based on their highest level skill that can be performed on the spring floor with proper technique and without a spotter. During this time, athletes will be asked to perform tumbling skills, jumps, and a brief dance section, which will be provided in advance. Athletes will receive their stunt evaluation Day 1 color group and time when they complete the tumbling evaluation.

  • 12:15-2:15 Prep - forward roll and cartwheel required, roundoff and backbend or bridge kickover recommended

  • 2:30-4:00 Elite Level 1 - back walkover and cartwheel required, front walkover and connected skills highly recommended

  • 4:15-5:45 Elite Level 2 - roundoff back handspring and elite level 1 skills required, front handspring, standing back handspring, and connected skills highly recommended

  • 6-7:30 Elite Level 3 - roundoff tuck and elite level 2 skills required, RO BHS tuck, aerial, and punch front highly recommended

*Tumbling evaluation times are organized to allow coaches to evaluate athletes with similar skills together. Registering for a specific tumbling evaluation time does not guarantee placement at that level. Athletes may be placed at higher or lower levels based on a variety of factors, including skill evaluations, team needs, age, maturity, and prior coach’s recommendation, among others. For example, having a back walkover does not guarantee placement at Elite Level 1, and an athlete may be placed at Elite Level 2 without a back handspring to fill specific team needs.

May 20th, 21st, and 23rd: Stunt Group Evaluations

During stunt evaluations, athletes will be grouped into stunt groups and will perform skills at that level to help coaches determine both level fit and stunt positions over two days. Athletes may be asked to try a variety stunt positions based on the needs of the group. After Day 1 stunt evaluations are complete, athletes may be switched to a different color group to evaluate them with that group. Athletes who are interested in crossing over (competing on 2 teams) may be required to attend multiple color group stunt evaluations.

Stunt Evaluation Schedule (2 days, based on color group assignment)

After stunt evaluations are complete, kick back and relax for the weekend! Team announcements will take place beginning at 7 pm on May 29th. Announcements will go out by email and on social media.

Returning for Season 7 - Tiny Starlights!

Let your little star shine bright at V.I.P.! No team placement required. Tiny Starlights in an introductory competitive cheer team for ages 4-7. This tiny novice team will begin practicing when our fall session begins in August and will perform at 3-4 competitions in the region as well as 1-2 local performances between January and April. Practices will be held once per week.

Athletes who are ready for Tiny Starlights are those who are able to listen and take instruction over a 55-70 minute class period, are comfortable being away from their parents during class, are enthusiastic about dancing and tumbling, and love to perform! This is a great fit for Big Kahunas and Pre Hot Shots. Hot Shots may enroll in Tiny Starlights or attend team placements to be considered for a prep team.

Keep an eye on our social media for more information about Tiny Starlights and how to register this summer.
